Wines
Precision work
revealing without imposing
Making wine is, above all, about learning to listen to the terroir. The soil, the climate and the unique character of each vineyard plot. It is this meticulous, demanding attention—vintage after vintage—that allows us to reveal, with ever-greater precision, the finest qualities of our deep gravel soils.
Excellence driven by family spirit
A Medoc Grand Cru Classé, handed down from generation to generation, where a passion for wine is combined with a deep respect for the terroir and the men and women who bring it to life. Today, a new generation embodies this continuity, while opening up the château to the times.
Each bottle is the result of a patient dialogue between the land, the vines and the human know-how. It’s the ultimate expression of our know-how.
THE GRAPHITE SIGNATURE
The footprint of our geological triptych
What makes a Marquis de Terme unlike any other Margaux, is its unique aromatic signature: a “graphite” minerality, reminiscent of pencil lead or gunflint. This singular character trait, which runs through the vintages with remarkable regularity, is no accident. It is the direct translation of our terroir: the limestone in the subsoil brings a saline freshness, the gravel on the surface concentrates the aromas, and the clay at depth extracts those noble mineral notes. In the glass, this mineral framework dialogues in perfect harmony with the brightness of fruit and the delicacy of floral notes, such as violet or peony.
Le Grand cru classé
Château
Marquis de Terme
An 1855 Margaux Grand Cru Classé, Château Marquis de Terme is structured around Cabernet Sauvignon, which plays a major role in the blend. It is complemented by a majority of Merlot and a touch of Petit Verdot, a blend representative of our grape varieties.
It stands out for its ageing capacity, balance and elegance. A true expression of Margaux terroir and Bordeaux know-how, it embodies the château’s strong identity: graphite and saline notes, bright, dense fruit and characteristic freshness. It reveals all the finesse of Margaux’s gravelly soils.
Vision
and wine expression
Its silky tannic structure gives it a unique mouthfeel. Its aromatic complexity of black fruits, floral and spicy notes, remarkable length on the palate and a balance between power and elegance are always present. Finally, constant freshness is its backbone, providing tension and dynamism.

La Cuvée 1762
A vintage in tune
with the times
This Cuvée is a tribute to the year of birth of the estate and the historic terroir of Château Marquis de Terme, virtually unchanged since 1762. It is designed to be the purest expression of our parcels, in their entirety, and has been crafted to preserve our identity and that of Margaux, with a more accessible profile that will provide immediate pleasure. The blend takes into account all the château’s parcels to reveal their full potential and expression.
1st vintage: 2018
It’s not a second wine in the traditional sense. It’s a different, equally sincere expression of our terroir.
Vision
and wine expressions
With more Merlot in the blend, it’s fresh, round and delicious. A generous fruity expression, a velvety texture that retains the signature of Château Marquis de Terme: that delicate minerality, that natural elegance and authenticity.

empreinte
The exclusive cuvée
This cuvée bears witness to the footprint of its terroir, its history, nature and mankind. It is in this spirit that Marquis de Terme has decided to pay tribute to them in this limited edition.
It’s an exercise in style based on an inverted approach: reversal of the proportions of grape varieties in the blend and reversal of winemaking methods. A disruption, for the duration of a cuvée, of the Médoc classicism from which the estate originated.
Boldness and inspiration at the heart of a heritage.
Produced in a limited edition.
1st vintage: 2018
Vision
and wine expressions
A very dense color, a very expressive and opulent wine with notes of black fruit and pepper, a creamy and suave tannic structure, powerful and coated at the same time. The wine retains the characteristic freshness of all the estate’s wines.

"The Marquis de Terme 2025 is terrific, not to mention one of the best wines I've tasted here. Rich, full and explosive, the 2025 has so much to offer, starting with its impressive textural depth. Blackberry, gravel, dark spice and licorice add a palpable dimension of dark intensity, while the floral tones come close. Truly impressive. Tasted three times."
"A solid, well-built, mineral wine with aromas of black fruits, dried herbs and warm spices. Medium to full-bodied, with fine, firm tannins. A persistent finish."
"In its quest for finesse, Marquis de Terme has produced its most accomplished vintage in recent years. The elegant, fresh fruit is supported by well-controlled ageing. The saline finish brings relief and precision to the whole.
"It's one of the finest terroirs in Margaux, but also one of the most underestimated. Château Marquis de Terme's vineyards are planted on particularly deep gravel, a mixture of clays, sands and gravels, and stand out for their ability to express the minerality of the subsoil.
“It is medium-bodied to full-bodied on the palate, with perfectly integrated oak, a rounded texture,
complexity and elegance, as well as polished tannins. This estate has gained in precision and elegance over
the last decade, and this cuvée is well worth discovering. »
"Marquis de Terme 2023 presents a tight nose with aromas of blackberry, blueberry and light notes of undergrowth, tobacco emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with sapid black fruits, delicate structure ("gentle grip"), good balance with good substance and complexity on the finish."
"If there's one Bordeaux estate to watch in 2026, it's Château Marquis de Terme. This 1855 classified château is undergoing a major transformation: extension of the vineyard, a new generation at the head of the estate, increasingly focused viticulture, and a serious commitment to the hotel-restaurant sector, making it a pole of excellence on the Left Bank thanks to its hotel, wine bar and restaurants. It really is an area not to be missed."
