A bold vintage
Marquis de Terme EMPREINTE is the fruit of an inverted approach, defying the conventions of the Médoc classicism from which the estate originated. The creation process was based on an inversion of the proportions of the grape varieties (60% Merlot – 40% Cabernet Sauvignon from a carefully selected 10-hectare parcel) and the winemaking methods (complete vinification in new French oak barrels for 4 months, aged for 16 months in ovoid concrete vats), creating a bold, disruptive cuvée. A special edition that testifies to Marquis de Terme’s spirit of innovation.
A perpetual quest for innovation
Always on the lookout for new opportunities, Marquis de Terme wanted to offer a new format for marketing its new Marquis de Terme EMPREINTE cuvée. As part of this approach, Marquis de Terme has formed a partnership with Intercellar, a Web3 marketplace for the purchase and exchange of exclusive bottles of wine and spirits.
An iconic range
While its cuvées today represent the quintessence of “1855” savoir-faire, Marquis de Terme always succeeds, at the crossroads of heritage, tradition and modernity, in bringing together the expected and the unexpected. A trademark that can be found in its 3 cuvées:
- Cuvée 1762, from the estate’s 26 parcels, is a tribute to the original Marquis de Terme vineyard.
- The Grand Cru Classé, Château Marquis de Terme, is the result of a fine, parcel-by-parcel selection of the entire vineyard.
- The cuvée Empreinte, a surprising exercise in inverted style (inversion of grape varieties, inversion of winemaking techniques) in the midst of Médoc classicism, showcasing, for the duration of a cuvée, the expression of Merlot and technical agility.
